Travel has always been my joy — a sensory journey that begins the moment you arrive. I relish experiencing a place for the first time — the sights, sounds, scents, tastes, and textures that define it. Food is a central part of my travel joy, as are the moments that make a destination unforgettable. I treasure personal memories like crossing the Bridge of Signs on the walk to the Hotel Danieli lobby bar in Venice, where I sipped a glass of pink Veuve while my partner, Scott, ordered a Vesper martini — his favorite to this day. Every martini since has been compared to that one.

One of my greatest joys has been planning my partner Scott’s first trip to Europe. Venice was our first stop and remains his favorite to this day. Each destination held its own kind of magic, but Florence offered a view — and a climb — I’ll never forget. I made it special with intentionally chosen moments — like being the first in line to climb the Duomo in Florence and capturing a cheeky selfie inside the cupola on the narrow walkway during our descent. For someone who isn’t fond of heights, it was equal parts breathtaking and nerve-wracking — a memory I’ll never forget, complete with a picture to prove it.
